stewart j brown，爱丁堡大学神学院院长，教会史教授。主要研究领域为近现代英格兰、苏格兰、爱尔兰的社会、政治与宗教，教会史与神学史。

主要学术著作：the cambridge history of christianity: volume vii: enlightenment, reawakening and revolution, 1660-1815 (joint editor); thomas chalmers and the godly commonwealth in scotland; the national churches of england, ireland, and scotland 1801-1846; providence and empire: religion, politics and society in the united kingdom, 1815-1914.
